How to balance Sage 50 Accounting Inventory
When you look at your inventory valuation report the total value should agree to the general ledger trial balance amount presented for the general ledger account(s) for inventory. If these two do not agree there are only 2 reasons why your Sage 50 inventory could be out of balance.
- You are not entering transactions for accounts payable or accounts receivable properly. Your Sage 50 vendor defaults could be wrong or during data entry you are posting to cost of sales not inventory or vice versa.
- You may have the general ledger accounts specified on your inventory items set up incorrectly and thus posting to the wrong account.
