Important Update Regarding Transport Layer Security (TLS) Support

This communication is to relay important information about Sage 50 and Microsoft TLS.

What Is Sage 50 Changing?

Important update regarding the support for Transport Layer Security (TLS) in our software.
What is changing? Microsoft has a Transport Layer Security (TLS) v1.0 and 1.1, which are third-party components utilized in earlier versions of SAge 50 software, are no longer supported due to security-related issues. These versions have been formally retired and are susceptible to potential security breaches. As a result, we are aligning with industry recommendations and discontinuing support for TLS 1.0 and 1.1.

Microsoft And Sage 50

The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), responsible for setting Internet standards, now recommends the use of TLS 1.2 and 1.3 due to their enhanced security features and stronger encryption algorithms.
What does this mean for you? If you are currently using an older version of our software impacted by this change (specifically versions 2020.1 and earlier), it is crucial to take action. After September 30, 2023, the next time the software attempts a license validation check, you will encounter an error. This error will prevent you from accessing the software upon reinstallation or reactivation.
