The core inventory functionality in Sage 100c and Sage 300c focuses on processing and managing transactions.  Sage Inventory Advisor Basics now leverages this data to make more informed decisions on stock, when to purchase more, and other insights that core inventory functionality isn’t able to do.

How often do you check the size of your Sage 50 Database?

It is recommended you check the size of your database at a minimum every 6 months.  The process takes less than a minute and the results could impact your business significantly.

Your Sage 50 software is designed to run for databases up to 250,000KB.  Slow response times and locking up happens when your database nears this limit.  To prevent your software from locking up, a Database Assessment is necessary.

To Check the Size of your Sage 50 Database

  • Open Sage 50
  • In the Help Menu, Select “Customer Support and Service”
  • Then select “File Statistics”
  • Scroll to the bottom of the window and review the total database size

When you are in period 24 and ready to close out the year these are the following steps. Backup you Sage 50 accounting data and print the general ledger trial balance report

The following on the Sage 50 Accounting trial balance needs to be reconciled

Cash – should reconcile to your manual cash balance

Accounts Receivable – to the open Accounts Receivable Aging Report

Accounts Payable – to the open Accounts Payable Aging Report

Inventory – to the inventory valuation report

Payroll Gross Wage(s) to the YTD earnings Report
